Zoffany’s story started with new beginnings and discovered treasures. During the restoration of Temple Newsam, a Jacobean estate built in the sixteenth century in England, fragments of wallcoverings and woven silks were uncovered by a team of restorers.  

 Among this team, Humphrey Boyle was particularly drawn to these wonderful historical fragments. Humphrey began to document and restore them, forming an archive that would become the foundation of Zoffany’s first wallpaper collection. That instinct to restore, interpret and create continues to define our work.  

Today, Zoffany works from our design studio at the Arts & Crafts building, Voysey House in London, working with embroiderers, textile workers, and artisans across the world. Both to breathe archival documents to life, fit for the contemporary room, as well as crafting original collections of wallpapers, murals, and embroideries and weaves, to make antiques for the future.
